15 New York Fashion Week Nails You’ll Love

New York Fashion Week has come and gone. Almost in an instant it seems. I was busy dealing with family issues, when BAM!—it was over. I did catch a few shows online, which was pretty awesome by the way. I’m always so inspired when I see the fashion hit the runway. And the trends just don’t stop at the clothes they’re wearing—you can’t forget the beauty side! Morgan Taylor Lacquer‘s nail team knows a thing or two about that. They were on hand (no pun intended) for a ton of shows!

Below you’ll find 15 of my favorite New York Fashion Week nails. The Morgan Taylor team even gives us the inside scoop on the colors they used, so you can try the same look at home.

1. Betsey Johnson

“Morgan Taylor’s lead manicurist Danielle Candido created an over-the-top manicure for Betsey and her models using an azure blue hue, West Coast Cool, topped with gold leafing and gold studs on almond-shaped nails. A flip of the finger revealed Bright Side, a “radiant orchid” purple, on the underside of the nail.”

2. Diego Binetti

“Lead nail stylist for Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer, Danielle Candido, created four distinct manicure designs inspired by autumnal leaves and trees. Lush, leafy textures played with shadows on some girls, while New School Nude nails were sponged around the edge with Espresso Yourself to represent hands harvesting the earth. Similar designs used Man Of The Moment, a rich red sponged with Denim Du Jour’s deep blue for a darker look. The other two looks were leaf-inspired looks with a slight ombre. Using rich green Totally A-Tealing, Expresso Yourself and Little Black Dress, the effect of nature turning colors was brought to life on the nails. Using the same dark red color palette, Man Of The Moment, Expresso Yourself, and Little Black Dress brought another leafy-ombre nail to the runway.”

3. Yigal Azrouel

“While makeup was pared down and hair was tousled in a loose low pony, the lady-like element was expressed in a deep, rich claret manicure by Gina Edwards using Morgan Taylor’s From Paris With Love.”

4. Clover Canyon

“The models were fresh, young lass’s, sporting clean makeup – a bright pink cheek and soft rose lip – enhanced with a custom-blended Morgan Taylor “Clover Green” manicure by Gina Edwards. To get the look, Edwards mixed Supreme in Green, Little Black Dress and Later Alligator.”

“A rich palate of plush silks and complimenting loose, voluminous curls falling down on furs in navy, black and eggplant motivated the shimmering aubergine manicure look that Gina Edwards created using Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer in Seal the Deal.”

8. Kenneth Cole

“The manicure style created by Morgan Taylor’s lead stylist, Gina Edwards, was a rich dark red called From Paris With Love; it was the primary color statement to the finished look.”

9. Tanya Taylor

“Morgan Taylor lead nail stylist Gina Edwards created a custom color with two coats of neutral-base pink I’m Charmed and one coat of soft, sheer pink Sweet Surrender. The result was a ladylike opaque pastel pink that perfectly matched the pink in Taylor’s collection. Though pale, the color was strong in contrast on natural length nails against skin tone.”

“The natural length nails were the “weapons” of the whole look. Lead nail stylist, Danielle Candido polished a deep heavy glitter gunmetal with Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer in Metaling Around.”

14. Adam Lippes

“Soft fabrics fell over Mongolian Fur accents and Morgan Taylor in Simple Sheer gave a rich finish to the nails. Peeping out from under floor-length flowing pant hemlines, Morgan Taylor’s New School Nude with a Matte top coat finished off the polished look.”

15. Nonoo

“Morgan Taylor lead nail stylist Gina Edwards combined Nonoo’s signature paneling technique and Kahn’s obsession with geometrics to create the look of vertical stripes that pop off a sleek gray. The medium length almond shaped nail had a base of sheer violet-gray Dress Code diluted with Stick With It for a soft, silky gray layered with 3 off-center stripes of varying width in navy blue Deja Blue, burgundy From Paris With Love and lavender Wish You Were Here. The result was dramatic and sculptural.”
