If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life (so far), it’s that if you don’t stop worrying about what others think about you, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Yes, a disservice. You should know that life is meant to be lived. Who cares what others think about you? Do not let others define who you are.
This past weekend, I was in Atlanta for the 5th Annual Blogalicious Weekend. I’ve been in a little bit of a professional funk lately. And even though this is a blogging conference, I knew that getting out of Los Angeles and walking into this event was going to make everything OK—I was right by the way. Thank you Ana for encouraging me to attend and helping me get there.
Not only did I get educated on the blogging side, but I was also reeducated on the living life side. I know you’re probably thinking…”How do you get reeducated on that?” I think somewhere along our journey, we’re taught that we should follow what society deems appropriate and to not color outside of the lines. And for a few brief seconds, I started to worry about what others might think about me or if I was doing things right in the blogging department. Yeah, I don’t know what came over me either!
Leave it up to the beautiful women at this conference to set the perfect example of being yourself, doing what you want, and not letting others define who you are. What a lovely reminder…I applaud those who stand on their own, embrace their individuality, and walk to the beat of their own drum…or dance furiously to it. And as you’ll see in the photos below, it’s OK to let go, have fun, and be true to you.
Thank you to my amazing friends who laugh at me when I’m silly and encourage it even more. Thank you for taking me as I am—impatient, sports crazy, kind of forgetful, and more! Thank you to my blogging sisters who welcome all with open arms, work hard to encourage no one is left behind, and inspire me with every word they type.
