If you follow the world of plus size fashion, the name SK WiLBUR may sound familiar to you. As a woman’s wear designer, Wilbur Pack Jr. created fashion for woman of all sizes. His distinct and bold line was featured on my blog last year when he showed at Full Figured Fashion Week. In fact, this summer I met up with Wilbur in NYC again, only to find out that he has now moved on to designing handbags!

I don’t know about you guys, but when it comes to makeup I don’t want that heavy and caked on feeling on my face. I still want impact when it comes to color, but not all that weighs it down. I think Estee Lauder really has that down with their Pure Color Cello Shots collection. I tried a few of the products from the collection below and I’m really impressed.
Yesterday, Dove invited me to come out and get a little pampering at their Dove Hair Affair event. Of course I said yes! I joined them over at The Grove here in Los Angeles. I met with Dove celebrity stylist Matt Fugate, who was super sweet in between all the hustle and bustle of the event. I even had time to take a little video for a new edition of Curves and Chaos T.V. Watch below!
I don’t think I could ever express how much I love the beach in one post. There’s just something about the warm sun on my skin, the sand between my toes, and the sound of the waves that bring this chick to her most calming state of mind. Living in L.A., I’m lucky to have the beach right outside my front door. It’s definitely one of the perks to living here. That being said, I have to make sure that I’m always beach ready.
Where’s Texas at? Why hello! I’m so amazingly excited to be speaking at the Texas Style Council conference (TXSC) in Austin, Texas next weekend! Held August 2-4, This is their fourth social media conference and I will be heading up a workshop titled: The Pluses of Plus-Sized Fashion.
I’m such a bad blogger and apparently a late one too! I just realized that I never shared this amazing L’Oreal Paris Miss Candy Collection that was sent to me! I know I’m horrible. So so so sorry ladies. Yes, it’s a limited edition set, but there may be a few drugstores out there that are still selling it. This colorful collection was inspired by the spring and summer 2013 runways, as you can see below.
It’s like a lookbook lalapalooza over here! Every time I log onto my email there’s another look for us to drool over. This time it’s from Anna Scholz and it’s her White Label Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. I’m always impressed with her designs. She truly creates for a woman with curves and it does it amazingly. And if you’re looking for luxury, then this is the collection for you. She’s bringing us silk, jewel tones, stunning prints, and even soft leather jackets. Just take a look for yourself.
Are you guys ready for fall? I know it’s still summer, but all of the fall/holiday lookbooks have been popping up and they’re amazing. MYNT 1792 is no exception! They’ve definitely have that rocker chic look down! So many amazing pieces from this collection. I want them all! They’ll officially go on sale at the end of August, but you can check them out below.
Are you ready for some glamorous dresses? I can’t hear you! OK…seriously I can’t hear because this is a blog, but I can imagine that you’re saying yes! Well, we all know about my love for Tadashi Shoji. His gowns and cocktail dresses are stunning. And when they sent me the Fall/Holiday 2013 Lookbook, you know I had to share it with you.
Last night, I was laying in bed and I couldn’t sleep (again). I grabbed my phone and started messing around on Twitter. As I scrolled through the tweets, a phrase popped in my head. “Be yourself. Be confident. Be brave.” I tweeted it out, closed my eyes, and fell asleep. It was like I just had to get it out. This morning I wake up, and I realize how vital this phrase is in my life right now.
I may have mentioned this on my blog before, but spent a few years living in Germany. It was amazing. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved the fashion and shopping there. I envied the dark, chic, and polished style a lot of the women had over there. Carmakoma is the perfect example of the that. Just take a look for yourself. I was sent a sneak peek look into their Autumn/Winter 2013 Lookbook!
I think this just might be my last post about Full Figured Fashion Week 2013. I’ve done quite a few! Well, since it’s probably the last (unless I come across more photos), I’d love to share some of the looks I saw on the night of the Indie Fashion Showcase. I’ve always been kind of a people watcher, and I can’t enough of other people’s personal style. This night I saw such an eclectic mix of fashion and it was awesome!
Yes…I’m still going through photos from my time in New York! It’s like a never ending stream of photos. I’m not complaining one bit, I just want to make sure you guys get to see them all. Today, I want to share the rest of my pics from my Nina Shoes showroom visit. Are you ready for part II? (You can read part I here)
I really wish the hubby would wear everything I picked out for him. But, it’s not a perfect world and he doesn’t. How dare he have his own personal style. On a serious note, finding clothes for him is a challenge. He’s super picky and let’s not even get started on the lack of Big and Tall sizes in our local department stores. Then I remembered JCPenney (a.k.a JCP) carries a decent selection online.
