It’s a Wrap! Kelly by Clinton Kelly (OOTD)

Last week, I was invited to speak on a panel and I had no idea what to wear. Do I dress casual? Do I go with a career look? Or do I rock the Kelly by Clinton Kelly wrap dress I was sent? Hmmmm…the answer was clear.

Let’s just say I went with the Kelly by Clinton Kelly Printed Faux Wrap Dress. It wasn’t a brain buster. I had never been to this conference before and I was truly clueless. So, I went with the dress that never fails—the wrap dress. I really wanted to wear a pair of bright colored shoes, but I didn’t have any. Shocker I know!

I will admit, I’m not the biggest fan of the show What Not to Wear, but I was very interested to try out Mr. Clinton Kelly’s clothing line. When they contacted me, I immediately said yes. I had to check it out.

First you should know, the collection is available online on QVC.com. You’ll find everything from blazers, dresses, tops, pants, and skirts. It’s decently priced too. I didn’t see anything over $90 and sizes come in regular, plus, and some petites. The style is pretty much classic staple pieces, but you will find a few trendy pieces.

What I’m wearing:  Kelly by Clinton Kelly Printed Faux Wrap Dress with Buckle Detail Read my review below…

After checking out their size chart, I decided to get the dress in an XL (18-20). I am a size 16 and after reading the reviews, I saw it ran a size smaller. First of all, this is a curve hugging dress and believe me it fit in all the right places. I was pleasantly surprised when I put this on. I loved the print and the length of the dress. I didn’t feel like I had to tug at the back to make it sure it wasn’t too short. And I was really impressed by the sleeves too. They were flowy and not too short. This is something I’m going to look for in future dresses.

Let’s talk details…there is a little shirring at the waist with the buckle detail. It’s not horrible, but I could have done without the silver buckle detail. Makes it a little hard to wear a belt or gold jewelry. The bottom half of the dress caught my eye. If you notice, it has a pencil skirt flow to it. Love that! I kept my jewelry simple, because of the bold print.

Not sure you can tell, but I really like this dress. I stepped out of my comfort zone with the bold print and I’m glad I did. I think this dress would be great for the office or any semi-casual event. Just mix up jewelry/accessories and shoes. And you’re good to go!

Have you tried anything from the Kelly by Clinton Kelly line? What do you think?

You look amazing and that dress – you definitely rocked it! I haven’t tried his line yet – I’m kinda on the fence re: celebrity endorsed lines, etc. but I also think he wouldn’t put out something that he didn’t approve himself.
