The Chambray Blazer Challenge

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t really challenge myself when it comes to fashion. Sometimes I do…sometimes I don’t. It’s a problem, I know. To rectify (I don’t think I’ve ever used that word before) the situation, I decided to work on that. Welcome to my Chambray Blazer Challenge.

Last week, I was strolling around the new Target by my house and I came across this Merona Oxford blazer. I couldn’t help but pick it up and pray that it fit me. My brain was just buzzing around the different ways I could wear it. Unfortunately, it’s not available in plus sizes, but the XXL did fit me and I’m a 16/18. And yes, it does button. I’d like to note that it is lighter in person and it’s a pretty thin material. Perfect for spring and summer.

As I contemplated buying it, I realized (with the help of my boo Ivory) that I would definitely get my money’s worth with a style challenge like this. Below you’ll find my first outfit. OK…I know the picture sucks. I’m so sorry for that. I was at my conference in Dallas and after a long day I forgot to ask someone to take the photos for me. Soooooooo…you get an iPhone pic. I promise the next pics will be taken by someone else and not my phone…annnnd I won’t be so wrinkled.

This was a really comfortable outfit, especially for a conference. By the way, I can’t stand how cute my open toe flats are! They have a little bling by the toes, but you can’t see that. Boooo! Anyways, I love the idea of being able to wear this so many different ways and for different occasions. Wonder where I’ll wear it next? And I wonder how many looks I can get out this chambray blazer!

I’m already planning the next outfit! How would you wear it? Do you have any ideas?

The outfit: Merona Oxford Chambray blazer (Target), Light Orange Woven Scoop Tank (Forever 21+), Broadway Ankle Zip Stiletto Jeans (Torrid), Necklace (Forever 21), Tribal Print Report Flats (Ross).

  • I have no idea what i would wear it with. Probably a skirt, like a skater skirt possibly? or a pencil skirt. Something fun for Casual day at work. I like your outfit so far, can’t wait to see what else you come up with though!
