But, that’s OK because I was given the inside scoop from the National Honey Board and six beauty secret honey recipes from makeup artist Mauricio Burgos.

Mauricio Burgos has created six portable beauty secret honey recipes you can make at home and even take with you when you travel. Just make sure to place treatments in air-tight traveling bottles, jars or containers.

Vitalizing Scalp & Hair Rinse with Honey
When on-the-go or traveling, your scalp and hair tend to become dry. This rinse will leave your scalp and hair vitalized.

Makes two applications

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons honey
10 tablespoons white vinegar
2 cups water

Preparation:
In a large bowl, add honey, white vinegar and water. Mix until thoroughly combined. Apply this solution as a last step to usual hair regimen when showering. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse out with warm water to achieve vitalized and radiant hair. Dry and style hair per usual.

 

Honey-Cinnamon Emollient Night Mask
Overnight treatments are recommended to deeply nourish your face. Try this mix of two very simple and accessible ingredients.

Makes two applications

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation:
In a small container, add honey and cinnamon and mix until it forms a paste. Apply emollient onto face before going to bed and leave on all night. Rinse with warm water the next morning. As a second option, apply paste and leave on for 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

 

Honey-Lime Facial Treatment
A quick and effective treatment to give your skin the extra glow that a natural humectant can provide.

Makes two applications

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons honey
1 lime

Preparation:
Begin by halving lime and juicing it into a small container, either by hand or with a lime juicer. Next, add honey and stir together until fully incorporated. Apply cleansing treatment by gently massaging onto face. Leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

 

Refining Honey Neck and Décolleté Cream
Moisturizing is the secret to keep these delicate areas looking soft and young.

Makes two applications

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon honey
3 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder

Preparation:
In a small container, add honey and nonfat dry milk powder and mix until thoroughly combined. Apply onto face, neck and décolleté and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

 

Hydrating Eyelash Honey Balm & Makeup Remover

Makes two applications

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon honey
3 teaspoons castor oil

Preparation:
In a small bowl, combine honey and castor oil. Cover mixture and allow to settle for one week in a cool area, mixing it every so often until a homogenous solution is achieved. Use every night to remove mascara and eye makeup while nourishing lashes.

Makes two applications

Ingredients:
5 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons rose oil
2 cups almond oil

Preparation:
In a medium sized amber bottle, add honey, rose oil and almond oil. Cover tightly and mix by gently shaking the bottle; if necessary, uncover and stir with a thin utensil. Use moisturizer in the shower by applying onto wet skin, especially concentrating on dry areas.
