I have the exact opposite of this problem. My husband can tell you, in great detail, which formal wear to what occasion. He is ALWAYS one step more conservatively and formally dressed than me or any of our friends. He’s preppy to the bone, and wishes I would dress that way as well. We learned early on that he couldn’t buy me clothing because our tastes did NOT match up.
