I’ve always considered Jeffrey Campbell the hippie rocker of the shoe industry. I will admit I only own one pair and I’ve decided this needs to change. The summer 2012 lookbook “Hot Child in the City” has helped influence this need for shoes. Like I really need a reason. LOL! I’m eyeing the “Dollywood” booties. How about you? Read more
Anything with “Paradise” in the name is all I need to hear. And ARTISTRY’s ‘Escape to Paradise’ collection reminds me of my kind of escape…a tropical island. The soft and radiant colors are nothing but beautiful.
The collection consists of a Cheek and Eye Quad in Golden Glow and Fresh Radiance, Lip Gloss Duo in Tropical Coral and Pacific Orchid, and Eye Pencil in Island Violet and Lagoon. These are definitely luxury-quality cosmetics.
I really like their “Get the Look” tutorials on their web site. You can choose from four looks-Seascape, Beachfront, Beachfront-Sunset, and Seascape-Sea glass. They give you step-by-step instructions on how to achieve these looks. My favorite is Seascape.
1. Using an eye shadow brush, highlight the inner corner of the eye and the brow bone with Antique, a soft beige.
2. Sweep Shell, a soft purple, across eyelid from lash line to crease.
3. Mix Shell and Drift, a golden brown, and blend into crease to create natural definition.
4. Apply Lagoon eye pencil along the upper and lower lash lines, connecting at the corners. Use the built-in smudger tool to soften and blend the line.
5. Soften by applying Seafoam, a pale turquoise, over eyeliner.
6. Complete eyes with mascara on top lashes.
7. Using a blush brush, sweep over entire Fresh Radiance cheek colour quad. Follow the cheek bone from the top toward the corner of the mouth to create a sculpted effect. If desired, blend outward to soften.
8. For a subtle highlight, apply the lightest cheek colour at the temples and along the top of the cheekbone.
9. Apply Raspberry Shimmer lip gloss. Blend Sparkling Lavender on top to create a shimmering effect.
The maxi dresses and I go way back…I love them. I can seriously wear them from spring through summer, ask anyone. They never go out of style and I doubt they ever will (crossing fingers). Read more
As you know, I had a chance to preview the new plus size BECCA ETC swimwear collection and I pretty much love it! And I wanted to share my favorite of all the lines-Animal Instincts.
I guess I’m a sucker for python print and I’m in love with the colors too! There are so many different styles, as you can see on the beautiful Tara Lynn below.
These are quality suits ladies! You are definitely going to get what you pay for. There are different options too-various two pieces, one-pieces, and cover ups. Some of the other bloggers that attended are even eyeing the cover ups as possible dresses! They’re such fashionistas!
If you want to see the other lines from the collection, you can view them all on the Curves and Chaos Facebook page here.

If you’re like me, then you know how hard it is to find swimwear that not only fits, but actually looks trendy. And in a color other than black.
We had a chance to meet the entire BECCA ETC team, including head designer Rebecca Virtue. Not only did we see the different styles of swimwear on the models, but we also gave our input on what we like and what we don’t like. For me, I’m concerned with support in the chest area. That’s numero uno in my book. What’s yours?
I’m going to do a separate post with their swimwear line, I just wanted to share these photos with you. We were also given a tour of the facilities and got to try on the pieces ourselves. Everyone was in love with this line!
Bloggers included Cid of CidStyleFile.com, Marie of The Curvy Fashionista, Stylist Reah Norman, Marketing and Advertising Sales Director of PMM Tulin Reid, Ivory of IvoryJinelle.blogspot.com, Chenese Lewis, and Allison of CurvyGirlChic.com.
Just so you ladies know, I’m making huuuuuge strides (no pun intended) when it comes to wearing prints. Especially floral prints and bright colors. Yesterday, I attended an event (post coming soon) and I decided to wear this floral H&M pencil skirt that’s been sitting in my closet for a few weeks. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it and I had to buy it. You’ve probably seen it on some other bloggers…cause it’s beautiful!
I’m a size 16 and this is a size large. It fits comfortably (material has stretch) and I adore it. It has an exposed zipper in the back that I also love. I wore it with an H&M tank (also a large) and my Dolce Vita sandals. I like this tank, but it’s a little low in the back, showing my bra strap F.Y.I. The necklace is Forever 21 and the sun glasses are Warby Parker.
OK…go ahead and yell at me. I know I’m a little late on this, but I’ve been a busy blogger. If you didn’t already know, I’m headed to the original Full Figured Fashion in New York City as part of The Fashion Front. I’m beyond excited (you’re going to hear that a lot!). Can you blame me?
Will I see you there?
Back to business…I wanted to share the FFFWeek 2012 Industry Awards recipients! Congratulations to you all! Well deserved!!

When I first saw Dareen Hakim’s handbags at MAGIC LV, I knew there was something special about them. The shapes and colors instantly caught my eye. Check out the new collections below, which are no exception.
“Sumptuous leathers, arabesque calligraphy, dramatic hues – all form the basis of style behind each Dareen Hakim creation. Celebrating at once tradition and function, her debut collection’s clutches enjoy a favored status among women inspired to carry a contagiously cool piece of art, one that instantly communicates both warmth and chic.” -DareenHakim.com
In honor of Mother’s Day, they are offering free shipping worldwide until May 13, 2012.
Under the Sea Collection
“The inscriptions on a Dareen Hakim bag reflect the designer’s fascination with the momentous spirit of her childhood. Within the turmoil of Lebanon’s earlier days, she saw people value life and cherish every day as though it was their last. This combined feeling of resilience, strength, happiness, love, laughter and appreciation of beauty in life’s simple pleasures left an impression she shares through the subtle scripted messages on her bags.” -DareenHakim.com

Pennington’s, the Canadian retailer, has just published their summer look book and I’m looooving it. The colors are amazing, aren’t they? Yes, they do ship to the U.S.! I wouldn’t do that too you!! I’m not going to lie, I have my eye on a few things (when don’t I?), but I’m really interested in trying their intimates. I love the prints and colors. I do have a coat from them and it’s great! Let’s see what else I fall in love with!
Are you a Pennington’s customer? What do you love most about them?
