As a child, I was enrolled in an elementary school with a strict dress code. Girls could only wear skirts and dresses (no shorter than your knees of course) with collars or a collared shirt. I did this from kindergarten until the 5th grade. So, when I noticed ASOS Curve’s love for collars, I immediately had flashbacks. LOL…OK it’s not that bad.
I did notice their mini-obsession with the collar. Which you can find embellished, Peter Pan style, scalloped, and even color blocked.
You all know my love for things that sparkle, hence the love for sequins. Well, I just bought my first pair of sequin pumps from Baker’s. And I love them!! They are so sparkly and I know I’m going to get a lot of wear out of them. Especially during this time of the year! Sooooo…now I’m on some kind of sequin kick. If you love sequins too, then you’re probably going to love some of the pairs I picked out below. Read more
Thanks to L’Oreal for sponsoring my post about my favorite beauty looks, tips and tricks! Check out Makeup.com for beauty advice from the experts.
My name is Monique and sometimes I’m kind of a makeup wimp. I’ve always been a simple kind of girl, never stepping out my box. I’ve always stayed with neutral safe colors when it comes to eye shadow. Actually, I just started using eyeliner a few months ago. I know…I know. I’ve never claimed to be a make-up guru, just a girl experimenting.
With the holiday season upon us, I know I’m going to be going out a lot. So, I really want to try a bold eye. Now, a bold eye for me may be a simple eye for you. LOL. As soon as I got my hands on some L’Oreal Paris goodies, I knew they would be perfect for experimenting.
I was really excited to try their HiP Color Truth Cream eyeliner (on the upper lid), the eggplant color is so pretty. And because it’s a cream, it went on really smooth and easily with the liner brush that’s included. I’m also in love with the Double Extend Eye Illuminator. One side is the black eyeliner, which I used on the outside bottom lid, and the crystal side on the inner side of the bottom lid. It adds a touch of brightness to my eye.
Like I said earlier, this is a bold daring look for me and I’m pretty happy with the outcome. Now I’m looking forward to my next bold look. Oh Oh…I might have unleashed a beauty monster! Maybe next time I’ll try brighter colors. What would your recommend?
When you dare to try a new look, what do you concentrate on? Eyes, lips, or hair?
I can see youuuuuuuu! I’m wearing my brand new eye glasses courtesy of GlassesUSA.com. These frames are sleek, lightweight, and super stylish.
I was able to browse through the different frame styles, shapes, and colors; all while using their “Virtual Mirror.” You get to “try on” the prescription glasses virtually and even send the photo to your friends.
I filled my prescription, chose the lens, and what coatings I wanted so easily. I will say that you do have to search for the exact dimensions of your glasses. Not every frame comes in your size. For example a few of the frames I liked weren’t available in my bridge or temple size. But after some searching, I found these.
And with shipping and handling, I only paid $82.95! They even offer a 110% lowest price guarantee and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
You’re probably going to ask yourself why you’ve never heard of them…I did the same thing. So, if you’re looking to buy glasses head on over and check out GlassesUSA.com. You can take advantage of their generous refer-a-friend program too (You can get $30 for each first purchase a referred friend makes – and use the $30 towards your next pair of glasses)!
Printed bras are greatly underrated. There’s something about knowing you have a bra with a fun design underneath your clothes. Like, when I wore this new Playtex Secrets® Cotton Shaping Underwire bra ($34) in the Mini Grape Zebra print. I felt a little sassy! It’s a great way to add a burst of color to your day and melt away your winter blues. And not only was it cute, but it was comfy and it fit. You know I’m a big fan of that! We all know that finding a bra that fits us the right way is a challenge.
Just take a look at the lightly padded cups that offer shaping and support, there’s a hint of lace for added playfulness and I’m loving the convertible straps. The bra is available in following sizes: In Basic Colors: 36 – 42 B; 36-44 C, D, DD and in Fashion Colors: 36 – 44 C, D, DD. I’m actually wearing the bra right now! Is that a little too much information? LOL!

Where are my vintage clothing lovers? If you’re here, then you already know about ModCloth right. They offer vintage/retro inspired clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, and stuff for your home. They even have a vintage shop, but stuff sells out fast!
I’ve known about them for a while, but was always bummed to find out that they didn’t offer plus sizes. Well, that’s certainly not the case anymore. I stumbled over there today researching a post for one of my other blogs and I was surprised at how many plus size pieces they offer. I found these items below in sizes 12-22 or XL-3X. You can check out their Fit and Form page here.
Aren’t we always on the look out for affordable but chic jewelry? OK, I’m always on the lookout for affordably chic jewelry. And lately I’ve had this obsession with Trollbead charm bracelets. I blame my best friend. But, each bead adds up and it just gets expensive. I’ve found my solution with Cutey charm bracelets.
Cutey, a UK line, is looking to bring you stylish, quality and easily customizable jewelry. They sent me the Oneiroi (£12.99) charm bracelet and was instantly charmed. No pun intended. They only carry charm bracelets at the moment, but they’re hoping to carry other pieces in the future.
I’d totally recommend checking them out if you’re a fan of charm bracelets. Right now they offer free UK shipping and they do ship worldwide. And if you use code DISC10, you get 10% off until 12/30/11. Hurry and order today!
Disclosure: I was not paid for this review, but I was gifted a bracelet. The above is my true and honest opinion.
I’m so easily distracted! I was researching for one thing and decided to write about all of these cool pants, leggings, and skirts I saw online tonight. These are definitely not your every day bottoms. And they’re a great way to mix things up.
We have ASOS Curve, Forever 21, Torrid, and City Chic pieces below. I’m kind of eyeing all of the different leggings and the shorts. Didn’t think there were would be shorts available during this time of the year, but you could always pair them with tights. Now that I think about it, that would be really cute!
Would you rock any of the bottoms below? Which one is your favorite?
”Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life. I don’t think you could do away with it. It would be like doing away with civilization.” -Bill Cunningham
If there’s one thing I’m passionate about it’s living life and doing what you love. Today, I watched a documentary based on New York Times fashion photographer Bill Cunningham and I witnessed a passion unlike any other. And it’s not even just for fashion. His love of life and doing what you love is inspiring.
Bill Cunningham New York, follows and chronicles the life of one of the most validated and beloved fashion/street style photographers of our time. Today’s ‘wanna be” street style photographers don’t compare to Bill. I don’t think you even need to love fashion to appreciate the message of this film and his philosophy on fashion.
Have you seen Bill Cunningham New York yet? What did you think?

I remember being a little girl and always shopping at Payless Shoe Source. I’m going to be honest, at that time the quality of the shoes weren’t that great, but they were affordable. And believe me we were always on a budget. Today, Payless is so different. You have designers like Lela Rose, Christian Siriano, and Isabel Toledo creating pieces. They are trendy and still affordable. Love it! Read more
