Did you know Jockey has a clothing line? Known for their underwear and basics, the Jockey Person to Person collection is fashionable and practical. I’ve tried a few of their pieces like the Burnout Hoodie, Bootcut Jeans, and Rib Tank. I get a lot of compliments on the hoodie when I wear it. The pieces are not only comfortable, but they actually fit. The line does go up to a 3X and a lot of the pieces are versatile.
Head designer Sunil Ramchandani has designed lines for Anne Klein and Queen Latifah. The line consists of denim, tops, outerwear, activewear and more. I love the Iconic Cape below! Have you tried Jockey Person to Person? What do you think?
Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, there’s no need to give up hope on great deals. I found you a few chic handbags all $25 and under. Now, you better hurry, because with some of these prices starting at $11.99 they are probably going to sell out fast if they haven’t already.
(Just click on the handbag to be directed to the retail site.)
Can you believe the holidays are already here! Are you ready? I’m not. Not at all. In fact, I haven’t even thought about gifts yet. Now, that this post has me thinking about it, I’m always pretty safe when it comes to picking them out. I like to lean toward things like accessories.
Thank goodness I was reading the Shopbop blog. I was instantly inspired to check out their accessories, like their selection of women’s hats. Great gift ideas. I wouldn’t mind a stunning cloche. I’m just saying…
Everyone loves accessories! Who doesn’t love Tilo Scarves or a gorgeous suede clutch from Maison Scotch? They are no-brainer gifts.
I’d love to get you started on that holiday shopping. One lucky reader will win a $100 Shopbop gift card!

Maybe I’ll see you there!
I know we all have shopping on the brain at this point of the week. Thanksgiving is a little over a day away and Black Friday is all you’re going to hear from here on out. I’m going to pass on posting BF sales here on the blog, I think everyone else is going to do a great job of that. Instead, I’m bringing you jewelry. Actually…gold cuffs. I’ve been looking for a few lately. You already know my love for cuffs since my big hands don’t fit in regular bracelets. And all of these would compliment a range of fall colors. I seriously don’t know which one I’d pick. They’re all gorgeous!
Some of you might think “Black Friday” is just a regular old shopping day. Wrong. It’s not. The day after Thanksgiving is the holy grail of shopping days to retailers. It’s the day where they expect to turn the most profit. That means amazing deals, discounts, and specials.
A few years ago, retailers were opening the doors at 6 a.m., now they are opening at 12 a.m. Walmart is opening their doors at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. These retailers are not joking around! And neither are the shoppers. I just read about a lady who starting camping outside of a Best Buy nine days ago. So, If you’re heading out on Friday, here are a few shopping tips.
Wear comfortable shoes. Please don’t be the lady fighting over flat screen t.v. in a pair of 5-inch platforms.
Don’t forget your coupons. Do you really want to stand in line for hours only to be at the register and find out you left your 15% off coupons at home?
Make sure you’re rested. How many times do you complain about making mistakes because you’re “too tired.” This is a serious shopping time. There is no room for mistakes.
Bring your patience. That’s it. You’re going to need it.
Don’t forget about the “door busters.” The earlier you arrive the better chance of getting a Blu-ray player for $10.
Do your research manage your time. Don’t just show up and figure you’ll find good deals. Again, you’re just wasting valuable “Black Friday” shopping time.
Don’t forget to eat a healthy meal and stay hydrated. You don’t won’t be sluggish on the busiest shopping day of the year do you? Those shopping pros will run you over with their carts!
Bring a friend. Who else is going to hold your stuff if you can’t find a shopping cart?
If all else fails…shop online. That’s a whole different post.
I know it’s November, but there’s still time to help support Breast Cancer Awareness month! Woman Within, a plus size retailer, is selling their Woman Within Quilted Logo Tote Bag to support the cause.
Woman Within is donating $2.00 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® for each tote bag sold, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $25,000.
According to L’Oreal, “Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara reinvents the false eyelash look, making it possible to achieve the clean impact of professionally-applied false lashes. A combination of super-fine nylon and rayon fibers perfectly adhere to natural lashes, enveloping them from root to tip thanks to an exclusive polymer in the formula. Meanwhile, an architectural precision brush with a 40-degree angle and reverse twist bristles ensure optimal application, making lashes appear fuller, longer, curled and sculpted. No clumps or messy results – just flawless lashes from every angle.”
I started applying the mascara at the base of my lashes, while wiggling the brush up using #275 Black Noir. The sculpting fibers in this mascara immediately adhere to your lashes and it did seem to curl them a little bit.
As you can see in my photos, it did add some volume, but I felt like it came out a little clumpy. Not as full like their ad shows. I did only apply two coats. Maybe with a few more coats it will add some fullness. Although, my eyelashes don’t look like their model’s eyes, I did like how dramatic of a change it made to these thin lashes. It’s very noticeable.
One random thing I noticed…I like the shape of the wand cover. It fits your hand naturally when you’re applying it. Yeah, I said it was random.
Last week, I made my way to Chicago for the Latinos in Social Media National Conference. I was bummed that I couldn’t take any time to see my girls out there (you know who you are).
For the award’s gala, I wore this Forever 21 dress, that you might have seen me wear here. It was such a fun night! I love hanging out with my fellow bloggers! I was nominated for two awards: Best Latin@ Lifestyle Blogger and Best Latin@ Social Networker. I did walk away with the best lifestyle blogger award. What an honor!! Really!! I’m truly blessed. Thank you to EVERYONE who voted for me and helped me win! xoxo
Earlier in the day, I was invited to a very special Mary Kay Glam Suite held in the Vice Presidential Suite at the Intercontinental Hotel. I got my hair blown out and a “day look” makeover. And I even walked away with an awesome Mary Kay gift bag!! Thank you Mercedes from BeChicMag.com for the invite!
I’m a biiiiiiig fan of the 1970′s disco era. When I was little, I used to love looking at old photos of my mom wearing her mini skirts and hot pants. Soooo 70′s! There’s just something about the music and fashion that combine to make good times. And don’t forget about the sparkle of it all. The fashion from that era definitely mimicked a disco ball. Looks like Dorothy Perkins found the disco inspiration in these pieces below.
FYI…Dorothy Perkins only goes up to a US size 18. And their web site is now available to the US.
Which dress is your favorite? The blue sequin one is calling me!
I’m so in love with Dolce Vita shoes. I wish they offered shoe-a-holics a lifetime membership. You just pay a yearly fee and they just send you shoes when they come out. Yeah, I know there are a lot of shoe companies like this, but I want Dolce Vita! If they did, I’d be one happy girl.
Just look! This round of new arrivals has really caught my attention. It’s like little bits of suede deliciousness. Read more
OK ladies…I don’t want to hear any more excuses. There’s no need to complain about not having lingerie that fits. Plus size lingerie is popping up everywhere. And this includes one of my favorite retailers, City Chic. You may have seen the beautiful Tocarra wearing their pieces in the October issue of Plus Model Magazine. The new line carries bras, panties, and shapewear. Sexy!

I’m back from Chicago and brrrrrr…it was chilly there and this L.A. girl loved it. After seeing everyone bundled up, I started to think about how you can stay warm, but look chic at the same too. How about a beret? I really like this Pins and Needles Basketweave bow beret from Urban Outfitters ($14.99).
There’s no need to be afraid of berets like this, you don’t have to be in in Paris to wear one. You can find them in almost every accessory store during the fall and winter. And they vary in price and design.
From embellishment’s like stones or sequins to nuetral or bright colors, there’s pretty much something for everyone. I always worry they won’t stay on my head, but that’s what bobby pins are for. LOL.
