NYFW is Red Hot!!

Red has been one of my favorite colors since I was a kid. And every time I saw a red piece from a designer at New York Fashion Week, I made a mental note. I knew I had to write a post about it. The color red evokes passion and a fiery attitude. What else does it need to say? It’s fashion! There’s a reason I love this color so much. And you will definitely see why below. I don’t think I can even pick one of my favorites! I’m leaning towards the Christian Siriano pieces. Which designer are you…

Shoe Fever: Zebra Print

Always inspired by shopping and my good friend Ivory, I had to feature a few pairs of zebra print shoes. It goes a little something like this… There we were in Soho shopping at Topshop, with Ivory on the hunt for a “must have” pair of platforms she saw online, but were sold out in her size. Sadly, when she found them, they didn’t have her size. She was a sad shopper. I will admit that shoe is pretty hot. I picked them up and started imagining the ways I would wear them. But, then I realized Ivory would kill…

Mixed Messages?

It’s been a few days since I returned from New York (I miss you!) and I’m trying to catch up. You’ll notice I’ve changed the layout of the blog. I think this one is easier to navigate and easier on the eyes. I hope it works. Today, I’m catching up on all the recorded t.v. shows I missed while I was gone and yes, TLC’s Big Sexy is one of them. I really do love the idea of a show featuring women who are confident in their bodies, but are normal at the same time. I’ve realized that regardless of the size…

Your First Look: Just As You Are

Here’s something you’ve probably said before…”Why can’t I find a coat that fits me?”

Fall is almost here and you know that means chilly weather. You all know I love when it gets cold. Although, L

os Angeles doesn’t get that cold, I still want a nice coat that actually fits me.

This weekend I was in New York, for the first Plus Model Magazine blogger conference. It was so much fun!! We were getting the first look, with a group of amazingly beautiful bloggers (those pics to come), of the new line of outerwear by Just As You Are.

Just As You Are wants to emphasize to all of us that they do care about what we want and for us to know that “size doesn’t matter.” They’ve done the research, believe me. They’ve listened, which a lot of brands don’t do. The coats do not come in sizes, you add your measurments, they tell you what coats would suit you, and you order. Simple.

As I watched the ladies modeling the coats (below), I noticed that there was something for everyone. They’ve to

uched on the small details. And believe me it’s the small details that count. For example, they only use faux furs, and they are incredibly soft. The coats are light weight, come in great fall colors, they have inside zippers, linings and faux fur collars that detach.

Prices will range from $159-$289, not bad for something you’ll use for many years.

The site will be live no later than September 14th. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. These coats really are mad

e for us. It’s about time.

“Like” them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and tweet them with you questions or comments. They will also be featured in the next issue of Plus Model Magazine, so be on the lookout. A big thank you to all the amazing ladies of Plus Model Magazine that made this conference happen. I can’t wait for the next one.

Style Trend: Faux Leather Jackets

Although it’s scorching here in Los Angeles, I’m still thinking of and waiting for fall. I want to wear my City Chic faux leather a.k.a. leatherette motorcycle jacket. Faux leather jackets are hotter than ever and they come in a lot of different styles and colors. These are great for spring too! I will take one of each below. My favorite would have to be #1. Which one is your favorite?  Lane Bryant $189.95 Old Navy $49.94 Nordstrom $207.90 Macy’s $79.00 City Chic $109.00 Torrid $19.96 Forever 21 $47.80 Forever 21 $24.80 Ashley Stewart $59.50 Avenue $89.90 £55.00 City Chic $109.00…

Just My Size Launches Belt Collection & Giveaway!

Looking for a belt that fits can be a pain in the butt, especially when you finally find one you like and it cost a lot more than what you wanted to spend. I have done this for years, that’s probably why I only have 4 belts. Don’t get me wrong, I do want to wear more belts. They can add so much to a look, all while helping to show off that curvy figure. Just My Size wants to help us with our belt problems, they have just launched a new belt collection. If you haven’t seen them in…

When you think of natural beauty products, you have to think of The Body Shop. They have been creating products with natural ingredients for years. All they want to do is “enhance your natural beauty and express your unique personality.” I’m all for beauty products with us in mind. And I love trying out new products with values like this. My Soles4Souls Fundraiser

Do I even need to explain how much I love shoes and how much I love buying shoes?Who knows how much I’ve spent over the past year! I’ve been thinking that maybe I’ve been taking my shoe purchasing for granted. That’s why I’m hosting my very first fundraiser! Starting today until December 1, 2011, my goal is to raise $1000 for the non-profit organization, Soles4Souls. Soles4Souls® is one of the fastest-growing charities in North America. We have donated over 15 million pairs of shoes to people in need – both in the U.S. and around the world. Soles4Souls partners with…

Nordstrom dress Sale

I was on one of my favorite shopping sites (of course) and I noticed a few dresses on sale at Nordstrom. These are casual dresses and they start at 50% off! I would like to go in the store and try them on, but my local Nordies doesn’t have a good Encore department. It’s all the way in the corner, like all the other plus departments. Sad isn’t it? I’m digging the Suzi Chin for Maggie Boutique dresses!

Chaotic 4 Men: Ralph Lauren Big&Tall

When it comes to classic American fashion, you can’t help but think of Ralph Lauren. Whenever I do a search online for Big&Tall clothing,  his line always pops up. Yet, I don’t know many guys actually wearing it. Why not? This line carries essential pieces that can be worked into your wardrobe. This is great for you guys who hate shopping. This means less shopping, because you already have what you need!
