Softcup Retreat @ Bliss Spa

Last week, my girlie Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista invited me to a pre-Espy’s Softcup retreat at Bliss Spa located in the W Hotel in Hollywood.

There were lots of celebs and athletes hanging around getting their choice of spa treatments. Just to name a few actress Gabrielle Union, sisters Vanessa and Angela Simmons, ESPN’s Erin Andrews, and hottie actor Jesse Williams.

As I was getting my manicure, I happened to be sitting next to the beautiful actres Gabrielle Union. We were all having a discussion about Softcup. If you don’t know, Softcup it’s the “no strings attached” feminine product. We were just getting tips on how to use it and the benefits of it. Believe me you have to check it out.

After my manicure, I munched on treats from the Little Next Door brasserie. The hummus is soooo yummy! Then I had a few cocktails while I was waiting for my amazing aromatherapy swedish massage.

And I can’t forget about my first ever oxygen facial. OK, it was my first facial ever and it was to…die…for.

I didn’t even know there was a Bliss Spa located that close to me and now I want to go ALL the time. Sometimes we need a little or a lot of pampering. Thanks to all the staff who were amazingly friendly! This is spa event I’ll never forget!

Sorry, I don’t have any pics of my outfit. But, I was wearing a coral SWAK tank and Torrid skinny jeans.

Disclosure: I did receive complimentary spa treatments and a gift bag. The above is my true and honest opinion.

Color Inspired: Yellow

Have you ever just been in the mood for yellow?
People crave food…I crave colors. When I get in the mood for something, I have to get it! I especially hate late night cravings. I saw some celebrity wearing a yellow dress and now I want one. Someone help me…

The Ballet Flat {Luxe Edition}

It’s no secret that I love a good bargain, but sometimes I love the finer things in life. Like a designer shoe. OK…I always love designer shoes, but I have to be realistic sometimes and tell myself that they are NOT good for the wallet. Instead, I just look and wait until one day I’ll have a personal shoe shopping account.

Today, I’m kind of in the mood for a designer ballet flat. Don’t you just love ballet flats? They are simple, comfy, and chic. Above, you’ll find Chloe, Elizabeth and James, Kate Spade, Lanvin, and Marc Jacobs…to name a few.

Are you a ballet flat lover?

In Awe…Plus Model Magazine’s Swimsuit Issue

I am in awe…seriously. I had to stop, right in the middle of what I was doing, to write this post.

For a lot of us, we’ve had to deal with being told that fat is ugly. And that we are not worthy of fashion, because we don’t fit the fashion industries mold. That’s total BS!

As I was flipping through Plus Model Magazine’s Swimsuit Issue, I didn’t realize I could be affected like this. I was almost brought to tears (of happiness). Finally, a magazine gets it!

This special issue brings together five very talented photographers, to shoot these beautiful curvy women.

I pray that you, teens and young women look at this and know that you are beautiful. And that you do look like the models in the magazines…Plus Model Magazine.

Please take a few minutes to check out this special issue.

On a side note-I’d just like to let you all know that I am now the Shopping Editor of Plus Model Magazine. I am so very honored and humbled to be a part of this amazing team. xoxo

A JET and Sophia Outfit Kind of Day

Most of you know that I love the laid back L.A. style and this outfit is a perfect example of that. Torrid sent me the JET John Eshaya White Leopard Print Tank ($34.50) and the Sophia Jegging Regular length ($58.50).
This was the perfect outfit for a day of shopping, eating barbecue, and more shopping. I’m always a fan of a flowy tank. Especially, when it has a knotted back where the straps meet. Now, this may seem a little difficult when it comes to choosing a bra. But you can always wear a strapless bra orrrrr one of those convertible bras with those see through straps (that are always attached) in the halter style. Just in case, like me, you need extra support. The tank is a little thin, so make sure you wear a nude bra or tube top under neath or you’ll definitely see the bra. This is the Cacique bra I wore with it.
The jeggings were amazing…as always. They fit great and weren’t too low, they sat above the belly button. Yay! I’m not a fan of low cut jeans! And they have a nice stretch, but still have the denim feel. These run pretty true to size. The 18 fit me perfectly. These are also in the regular length. The Sopia Jegging also comes in extra short, short, tall, and extra tall. Don’t you love the variety? I’m 5’6 and these are still a little long. Regardless, I can see me wearing them a lot!
What do you think of the JET tank and Sophia jeggings?

OPI’s Charged Up Cherry

I picked up this yummy color in a gift bag at an event. OPI’s Charged Up Cherry is definitely an eye-catcher. The color is a mix of neon pink with a hint of coral. Love this color! It’s fun and it’s perfect for summer. Plus it’s OPI, so you know it’s a long lasting nail lacquer. Would you wear Charged Up Cherry?

Introducing Sorella Swim

Summer isn’t over yet, my loves. If it was…would I be writing about Sorella Swim, this new incredibly chic luxury swimwear line? Hmmm???
“Our goal with Sorella Swim is to have our customer feeling sexy and chic while wearing her Sorella swimwear. With this in mind; we pride ourselves on the high level of quality with a specific focus on fit. This key attention to detail combined with superb craftsmanship and design set Sorella Swim apart from all other full figure swim brands. Sorella Swim is a luxury swimwear brand for the real woman. It is finally a brand she can call her own! “-Jessica Petersen, owner and designer of Sorella Swim
The swimwear will be available in sizes 10-24. And it will debut for the first time this summer to retailers in July during the famous Miami Swim Fashion Week.

It’s Hot and I’m Floral

I guess this HOT weekend was one with a lot of firsts. For example, I haven’t worn a floral romper since I was kid. I was really surprised when Torrid sent me their Floral Ruffle Tube Romper ($48.50). I don’t even think I would of purchased this for myself.

Doesn’t it kind of look like a dress? I was happy there were no malfunctions while wearing it. And you have no idea how happy I was knowing that there were pockets. It was roomy and pretty comfy, but after wearing it all day the elastic in the tube top kind of starting irritating me. There is also an elastic waist, which gives it shape. I threw on this skinny braided belt, my You by crocs wedges, gold hoop earrings and bangle bracelets, and my Forever 21 sunglasses. It was sooooo hot on this day and this jumper kept me nice and cool!

Disclosure: The clothing and shoes were gifted in this post. This is no way affected my post. The above is true and my honest opinion.

Tom Ford and his Fat Phobia

I didn’t know if I should even write about this. I’m unsure about even mentioning his name, because I don’t want to give him any more publicity. But, I just wanted to give you ladies another and perfect example of size discrimination in the fashion industry (like you needed more). Read more
