The Lane Bryant “Revolution”
Where do I even start? First of all, I want to thank Lane Bryant for the VIP pass to The Curvy Revolution. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have had such an amazing experience.
On the final day of the convention, I finally ran into NettaP, one of my favorite bloggers. Love that girl!
Then after getting lost, I attended a Lane Bryant panel session with the VP of Marketing, Jay Dunn. It was a very informative look into the world of Lane Bryant. Mr. Dunn made sure to remind us that it’s not about age, but about your attitude. I love that philosophy especially when it comes to fashion. He gave us a few insights on keeping LB on trend, their models, and what is in store for them in the future.
After the session, I went to dinner with my girls and then I ran back to my hotel to get ready for the runway finale. I bought this grey draped dress with an embellished belt from Forever 21+. My earrings and ring were from Aldo Accessories, and I wore my black patent leather Jessica Simpson platform pumps.
I will admit, I showed up about 30 minutes late. But, I did have a chance to catch Bettie Page Clothing, Always for Me, and Madame Couture before Lane Bryant hit the stage.
As I found a seat, I pulled out my camera, only to realize I left my batteries charging in my hotel room. I was so MAD! Unfortunately, I only had my cell phone to take photos. So, until LB releases their images, your stuck with cruddy cell phone images.
I was in awe of every confident curvy woman that came down the runway. Especially my girls Griselangel and Allison!! There was such a range of body types as well, which I loved!
Although the first half of the finale was awesome, I was really looking forward to Lane Bryant’s finale. I found a seat next to Sara of Bombshell Beauty (who is awesome btw). We all sat there anxiously waiting for it to start. Little did we know, the stunning Ashley Graham would open the show. Take a look of the really poor quality video I took with my phone (below).

After the runway show, I finally met Aimee and Erica from Madison Plus and I snapped a photo with Ashley Graham.
Then we made our way to the after party. I had a powerful conversation with Jay Dunn about LB using models who are size 16 and up. I hope my pleading made some kind of impression. I also had a chance to meet and chat with Robert Rutkauskas, senior Lane Bryant designer. I then introduced myself to a few of the LB models, including Lizzie Miller. The night is one I will remember for a very long time!
I will say this…beyond the “behind the scenes” drama (that is not worth putting on my blog) I was really glad to have met the Lane Bryant team and the City Chic team. And the time spent with my girls is worth so much more. Thank you to all who made this an amazing weekend!
