I am now just realizing that I need more rings in my life. After wearing the big sparkly one I bought at Aldo Accessories I know I need more! Call it a budding obsession with statement rings.
But, everyone should have at least one statement ring. If you don’t, then you have no idea what your outfit is missing.
In fact, while doing a little bit of ring browsing online, I came across a few rings that caught my eye. Rings that need to be on my fingers soon!
If you’re like most fashionista’s, then you can’t wait for tonight’s red carpet arrivals at the award show of the season, The Academy Awards. Also known as “The Oscar’s,” this is the king of all red carpets.
The only celeb I’m looking forward to is Christina Hendricks. I love how she rocks her curves! But, besides that, I always look forward to what the trend will be on the red carpet.
If I was going, I’d die to represent in this Alexander McQueen Kimono Gown, but with the $8,655 price tag, it seems very unrealistic. That and it doesn’t come in my size. So, I stick with what I know. Gowns that are available in a wide variety of sizes.
I have feet issues. When I say feet issues…what I really mean is…I have feet in high heel issues. Finding a comfortable heel that is also on trend is still really hard to do. That’s why I get stuck with feet that hurt.
While I was in Las Vegas last weekend, I did a lot of walking. So much, that when it was time for evening events I was dreading putting on my shoes for the night. Who’s with me?
I can’t be the only shoe lover out there that suffers for the sake of beautiful shoes!
As you can see, the “Fast Flats” come in a cute compact gold wristlet. They do fold and half and there is a rubber sole. You would have to carry a bigger bag when you go out, this wristlet will not fit in a small clutch. They come in small, medium, and large. I have a pair of the mediums which is a size 7-8. I wear a size 9 1/2, so it’s a snug fit, but it’s serves its purpose. They average $8-$15, but there is a $2 coupon on their web site.
*Disclaimer: I was NOT paid for the post. Although the item was gifted, the above is my true and honest opinion.
Where do I even start? First of all, I want to thank Lane Bryant for the VIP pass to The Curvy Revolution. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have had such an amazing experience.
On the final day of the convention, I finally ran into NettaP, one of my favorite bloggers. Love that girl!
Then after getting lost, I attended a Lane Bryant panel session with the VP of Marketing, Jay Dunn. It was a very informative look into the world of Lane Bryant. Mr. Dunn made sure to remind us that it’s not about age, but about your attitude. I love that philosophy especially when it comes to fashion. He gave us a few insights on keeping LB on trend, their models, and what is in store for them in the future.
After the session, I went to dinner with my girls and then I ran back to my hotel to get ready for the runway finale. I bought this grey draped dress with an embellished belt from Forever 21+. My earrings and ring were from Aldo Accessories, and I wore my black patent leather Jessica Simpson platform pumps.
I will admit, I showed up about 30 minutes late. But, I did have a chance to catch Bettie Page Clothing, Always for Me, and Madame Couture before Lane Bryant hit the stage.
As I found a seat, I pulled out my camera, only to realize I left my batteries charging in my hotel room. I was so MAD! Unfortunately, I only had my cell phone to take photos. So, until LB releases their images, your stuck with cruddy cell phone images.
I was in awe of every confident curvy woman that came down the runway. Especially my girls Griselangel and Allison!! There was such a range of body types as well, which I loved!
Although the first half of the finale was awesome, I was really looking forward to Lane Bryant’s finale. I found a seat next to Sara of Bombshell Beauty (who is awesome btw). We all sat there anxiously waiting for it to start. Little did we know, the stunning Ashley Graham would open the show. Take a look of the really poor quality video I took with my phone (below).
From the moment Ashley Graham opened the show it only got better. There were dancing cowboys, poodles, male dancers, and of course…fashion! I really want to “high-five” whoever styled the models. There was a mix of sportswear and intimates. I was having so much fun and before I knew it, Ashley (wearing a black leather studded bra and panty) closed the show with a shower of confetti. It was my favorite fashion moment to date.
After the runway show, I finally met Aimee and Erica from Madison Plus and I snapped a photo with Ashley Graham.
Then we made our way to the after party. I had a powerful conversation with Jay Dunn about LB using models who are size 16 and up. I hope my pleading made some kind of impression. I also had a chance to meet and chat with Robert Rutkauskas, senior Lane Bryant designer. I then introduced myself to a few of the LB models, including Lizzie Miller. The night is one I will remember for a very long time!
I will say this…beyond the “behind the scenes” drama (that is not worth putting on my blog) I was really glad to have met the Lane Bryant team and the City Chic team. And the time spent with my girls is worth so much more. Thank you to all who made this an amazing weekend!
Day 2 of The Curvy Revolution was all about meeting the vendors at the Expo. I know there are so many amazing products and brands out there for the curvy woman.
I even had the opportunity to get a free bra fitting by
I made the trek from Los Angeles to Las Vegas all by myself! Woohoo! I’m here for The Curvy Revolution and I am beyond excited! I am about to pass out from all the excitement and fun. So here’s a quick recap of what I wore.
Looks like Christina Hendricks is taking her character Joan from AMC’s Mad Men to the red carpet. Just look at her channeling the fashionable 1960′s woman. Not only is she one of our favorite curvy celebs, but it seems the paparazzi has been loving her lately too! It’s also been reported that she is the new face of Vivienne Westwood’s fine jewelry collection. Congrats Christina! Score another point for the curvy girls!
