Days 2 & 3 of Viva Fat Vegas were a lot of fun! Yes, there are more photos. And I know you’ve seen them on the other girls blogs, but now it’s my turn! Lol.
After our afternoon at Voluptuous we spent an evening with Sealed with a Kiss (SWAK) Designs. We were lucky enough to try on pieces from their fall line. We even had our own private fashion show. The pieces were beyond amazing. They were not only comfy but the cuts were flattering and accentuated our curves! There are tons of pictures below. SWAK gifted us a dress and I swooped up a red

At the end of 7 days, I will post the outfits below. All you have to do is leave a separate comment telling me what you think about each outfit. It’s open to U.S. residents only and if we win I will pick a winner using Random.org.
Remember, the more you comment, the more chances we have to win!
Day 2 of Viva Fat Vegas started out as we all headed over to
The owners of
The boutique is stocked up on jewelry and accessories. They even have a “celebrity” wall. We all had our Polaroids taken with the store owner Patty. We were even gifted a top, which you will see tomorrow. I’m not just saying this either, but they were really nice and they have the best customer service! That’s something they are really adamant about, which is so important. Oh…and their prices are really reasonable too! If you’re ever in Las Vegas, I would highly recommend visiting Voluptuous.
This is my first plus size fashion blogger conference and to say I’m excited is definitely an understatement. Unlike the last conference, I am fully stocked when it comes to technology. Camera…check! Mini-camcorder…check! Laptop…check! Fully functioning Black Berry…check! Hopefully it will last the entire weekend so I can log in and blog about what’s going on. I’ll even be on twitter at @CurvesandChaos if you want to follow me around “Sin City.”
My name is Monique and I wear t-shirts and sweats to bed. Yes, I know there is nothing wrong with that as long as I’m comfortable. But, today I determined I am ready to move out of my sleeepwear comfort zone. I’ve even noticed that when I go shopping, I never really shop for it and I don’t know why? Sleepwear is everywhere! And here’s the amazing thing about that..there are some really chic and comfy looking plus size pj’s out there! I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my sleepwear to lose it’s comfy appeal. I’m currently on the lookout for sleepwear like the pieces below.
If there is one place I go to drool over designer totes, it’s definitely Shopbop (even bargainistas love designer bags.) If you’re a serious shopper, which you probably are, then you definitely know about this amazing designer shopping site. Shopbop designers range from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler, Chanel, and so many more.
Just yesterday I was complaining about my handbag not being big enough! Not only am I a fan of oversized handbags, but I’m a fan of all handbag styles. In fact, my dear curvy shoppers, I am currently on the hunt for a black handbag. I love the one I have, but I need a new one stat!
Are you currently searching for your next designer piece? Well, you’re in luck! Shopbop is giving one of my lucky readers a $100 gift card!
To enter visit the Shopbop.com web site and tell me what you’d buy with the $100. Make sure you leave a valid email or twitter i.d.
For an extra entry tweet the following: “@Shopbop is giving a @CurvesandChaos reader a $100 giftcard! http://tinyurl.com/28smxyy“
*Please make sure you leave the link for the tweet as an EXTRA comment, or it will not count.
Contest is open internationally, with only one entry per person.
Must be 18 years or older to enter.
Winner will be chosen using Random.org and notified via email or twitter.
Crystal Renn strutted her stuff down the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week catwalk for the Gottex Spring 2011 line today. There’s no doubt she’s a beautiful woman, but has our poster girl for plus size models lost her plus size appeal?
In my honest opinion, if she’s happy with the way she looks and she is comfortable in her own skin, then I’m happy for her and anyone for that matter; regardless of their size. I guess compared to the size 2 on the runway she is still a plus size model. And Gottex does make extended sizes in their swimwear line. The coral swimsuit is AMAZING!
I want to know what you think. Do you still consider Crystal Renn a plus size model?
Sexy was definitely in the air yesterday! I was invited to the Victoria’s Secret launch of their new fragrance “Bombshell” at The Grove in Los Angeles.
I met up with two blogger buddies and we had so much fun! Not only did we get mini-makeovers, but we also got a autographs and a few seconds to chat with three of the Victoria’s Secret super models; Adriana, Lily, and Candice.
Bombshell ($45) definitely smells delicious! It’s a blend of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la yellow peony, and vanilla orchid. It really is a sexy scent. I’m not a fan of those overpowering fragrances either. I was given a free bottle and I do plan to use it! Check out some pics and video I took below.
Here are a few videos of the Bombshells telling me about ‘curves’ and the Bombshell fragrance. (The audio might be a little “off” on the video clips. I don’t know why.)
After we met and chatted with the three supermodels, we headed over to have our own Victoria’s Secret cover shot! Yes, now I’m a model! Hahahaha…no I’m not. But, we felt like it! We had a fan, backdrop, and the coolest camera…which we all wanted to own.
The other day on twitter I made a comment about going to sleep with fashion on my mind and waking up with fashion on my mind. And the news I got yesterday, just confirmed what the next two months will be like!
On October 28-30th L.A. will be home to

Fashion has hit a recent trend lately; designers are making their designs available to the fashion-lusting public. Not everyone can afford a $1000 pair of shoes. Instead, it’s time to get fashion at more reasonable prices.
Christian Siriano’s 2011 collection will not only include shoes, but handbags as well and will hit stores in February. All under $60! The Lela Rose collection will also debut for Payless in the spring of 2011.
The Lela Rose collection is also inspired by an international location…Lima, Peru. According to Payless, her inspiration is a “strong mix of old-meets-new cultures and architectures at various stages of development in the city.” This collection includes five key styles where old-meets-new and Peruvian textile inspirations. These designs are names after streets of Lima: “Loreto with its striated wedge heel inspired by the city’s hillside landscape; Magdalena accented with a rich brown raffia-wrapped textile wedge sole; Olaya, a T-strap with a wedge sole wrapped in an iconic Peruvian navy-clay colored woven textile; Canevaro a T-strap dress heel; and Olivos, the all-satin cocktail shoe.”
“Each season we eagerly await the latest creations from our designer partners,” said LuAnn Via, CEO of Payless ShoeSource. “For the Spring ’11 season, Christian Siriano and Lela Rose have yet again delivered head-turning footwear and handbag styles that beautifully express their unique design points of view. From Christian’s flair for edgy and powerful looks to Lela’s ‘classic with a twist’ aesthetic, we are proud to debut distinctive, high-fashion styles at prices that everyone can enjoy. The accessibility of these runway looks is at the heart of our commitment to democratizing fashion.”
If there is ever a trend I can relate to the most, it’s definitely military fashion. Yes, my curvy friends, I did serve in the U.S. military. To this day, you will not find me wearing anything camouflage or combat boots. I wore them for five years and that’s enough for me. But, everything else in this trend is OK. If anything I love the symmetry of the buttons. Chic without overpowering your outfit. Can someone please buy me the ASOS Curve Military Knitted Cape? Please?
Will the military trend make it to your closet this fall?
