Saturday Night Rant

It’s Saturday night and I’m sitting here watching The Bad Girls Club. I’m feeling all feisty right now! Lol. If you live in L.A. and listen to KDay…only one of the best radio stations EVER, then you’ve heard that dumb Lap Band commercial. I can’t stand it!! It goes a little something like this…

Guy:”Wow Bridget, you look so skinny! I can’t believe you ever weighed that much weight!”

Girl: “Oh thank you! See these two gallon jugs of water I’m holding? That’s how much weight I lost!”

Guy: “What is your favorite thing to do now that you’re skinny?”

Girl: “I get to go shopping at all the fun stores!”

Come on!!! Are you kidding me? I despise that commercial. Too bad all of us non-skinny people don’t get to shop at fun stores! Ugggghhh!! Kiss my BIG OL’ BOOTY Lab Band! You bite!

Thank you. I’m done.

A day well spent…

Today was a beautiful day! I spent the day with my mom, dad, and my little brother. My parents are divorced so spending time with both at the same time is rare. Look at the cute dress my mom gave me! She’s too sweet.

We had lunch together, then spent a couple of hours at thrift stores.Yay! Bargain shopping at its best. I dressed super comfy, in my favorite boots of course. Very casual…kinda boring actually. I wanted to add a simple scarf, but it was a little warm here in L.A. I found a lot of great things, but I’m in a “what I need” more than “what I want” shopping mode. I picked up that cargo blazer and two skinny belts. Spent a total of $8!! I think I might head out again this weekend. Wish me luck!

Spring Trends: Coral

What’s the difference between coral and orange you say? Coral has a touch of pink or red hue. Let’s not worry about that…let’s just enjoy this vibrant color in our spring wardrobes. There’s nothing like a splash of color to wake up the fashion senses.

I’ve had my eye on #3 for about two weeks now. I think I’m going to go and grab it before it’s gone. And don’t get me started on #5!! Love love love coral.

My golden rule: Don’t let bright colors frighten you! Even if it’s a pair of shoes or a rockin’ handbag, wear it proud!

Fendi never disappoints when it comes to their accessories. Their Fall 2010 handbags are no exception. The Milan runway showcased the gorgeous Fendi design with classic silhouettes and pops of color. I’m banking on mustard as the “it” color for fall. What do you think?

Ruffles aren’t just for little girls. I swear they’re not. I’m a big fan of this trim, I just won’t go crazy with them. You can if you love ruffles, it’s up to you. Remember you are your own fashionista! You can even grab a ruffled handbag, if you don’t want them on your clothes. What do you think about ruffles?

L.A. Rain

If there is one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love the rain. Yes, a “California Girl” loves the gray and cold weather. That’s why I was super happy to hear rain in today’s forecast. It gives me a reason to dress cozy and comfy. Good thing I was comfy, I had a doctor appointment and a few errands to run. Leggings, a roomy top, and my Uggs have become my new jeans and t-shirt alternative. Oh…btw… I love my Uggs!! I am not going to lie, I used to think they were ugly. I know! That was until I planted these bad boys on my feet. Now, I’m in Ugg heaven.

P.S. Today I found out I really love Lay’s Limon chips and I don’t like rude people. So, if you’re rude…stop it!! No one likes a rude lady. Be nice. :)

You’ll have to excuse the enthusiasm, but I love big fun hair. I always think of the time my bff teased her hair out in Las Vegas. She looked like an extra in a 80′s rock music video. It was awesome. Now, imagine how much I loved the Roksanda Ilincic Fall 2010 line that graced the London runways. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Oh…btw…be prepared for big hair to be a hot spring trend!

Spring Trends: Geometric, Tribal, and Ikat Prints

Repeat after me…”Prints are my friend.” Don’t be afraid of this daring spring trend. Geometric, tribal, and ikat are definitely the eye-attracting prints to wear this spring. If you’re not into the much loved floral print, then this may be for you.

Any of the tops can be worn with a simple solid color legging or even a skinny jean. I have my eye on #2 and #11. I love the idea of a chic long layered necklace as an accessory. Or even a solid color skinny belt can add definition.

My golden rule: Try not to wear more than one style of print, no combining here! The print is already your bold statement piece.

An Evening Affair

What a fun night! My hubby and I were invited to a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. It was a true honor to be there and witness their love. There was a live band and everything. Yes, I do dance.

I was worried the dress might have been too short or showed too much cleavage. But, I think it was OK. Right? lol

This whole outfit costs….$65! Not bad, considering I can wear these pieces over and over. The only thing about the dress was the belt. It kept coming undone, so I had to fix it with an emergency bobby pin. The shoes weren’t the most comfortable, but they worked. I even got a few compliments.
