Being curvy is more than appearance…isn’t it? You should be comfortable with who you are no matter what shape you are? Growing up I was pretty average. In middle school, my crush told his friend that he didn’t like me because I was fat. And in high school, I was told by my doctor that I was the perfect weight for my height. Yet, I thought I was still fat. I look back now and think…What was I thinking?? I guess we set ourselves up for disaster when we sit there and compare ourselves to others. Something I didn’t realize until recently. (Yes, it takes this long sometimes.)
Today I am the ‘curviest’ I have ever been and not in the best of health. So, I’ve decided to work out and eat healthier to lower my cholesterol and get my curves in order. Does that sound fair? Lol…but I now realize that it doesn’t matter what size is on the tag. It doesn’t matter what the supermodels can fit it. The only thing that matters to me is that I am healthy and I feel good about myself-inside and out. There you have it, my epiphany for the day.
As I was out shopping this weekend, I found a pair of nude Nine West heels that had my name written all over them…until I tried them on and the heel was a little too high for me. But they were soooooo hot! I think I am going to venture back out this weekend and find me another pair. I know the nude shoe is going to be the “it” shoe for Spring. You can wear it with almost anything. It doesn’t have to be a heel either, try it in a flat or wedge. Do you already own a pair? What would you recommend wearing with it?
Yes, I am an avid shopper. Yes, my hubby does not like it. No, I will not stop. I am always in the mood for shopping. I am also a bargain shopper, so he can’t really complain that much! But, he still does (lol). Today I found this Belted Shawl Cardi Coat from Old Navy. I imagine myself wearing this on a chilly day. Looks pretty comfy and I love the color, they call it ‘Goodnight Nora.’

Spring is right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear floral prints now.
I saw a pic of Scarlett Johansson wearing a floral print dress and it looked very chic. You can wear floral too! My only piece of advice is to not wear it head to toe.
Wear the floral print as a statement piece, while pairing it with a solid color pant, top, or cardigan. You can even do a great scarf like the one on the Torrid model (left).
Because I am curvy, I have always been afraid to wear prints. Not anymore. I’m stepping out the fashion box and I’m going to let fashion show the world who I am!
For some reason, I am obsessed with purple. Not just any purple, but the plum-purple color. So, it would make sense for me to buy a handbag in this color. Right? Ok, it makes sense in my head. It doesn’t make sense to my hubby, but it never does!
I’m not just going to go out and buy any bag, I am definitely a curvy bargain shopper. I found these gorgeous bags below for under $100. That may still be a little pricey, but I guess it’s OK to look…this time.
There are tall boots, over-the-knee boots, booties, and calf-boots. But, what about the ankle boot? If you love boots, but don’t want to hassle with having to zip them up over your ‘curvy’ calf, then these are for you. The boots I chose below have an added bonus…they are very sexy and can add a lot to a pair of jeans or even with a gorgeous opaque or knitted tight. Read more

Some might say a curvy woman shouldn’t wear lateral stripes. I say don’t listen to them. We can wear whatever we want. In moderation of course. Why should we let the non-curvy gals have all the fun?
Don’t be afraid to add a few stripes to your wardrobe. Just promise me you won’t go overboard. Repeat after me…”Stripes are not scary.” It’s up to you to wear them with pride.
